Cuncolim Municipality demands for action against the damaged old buildings

Cuncolim heritage under threat.

This happens when you have people who do not know about old architecture, and old buildings. Ideally, the plan should be to save this buildings and not demolish them. As is she (chairperson of Cuncolim municipality) an expert to pass judgments on the safety of.this structures.

In the west, people have structures which  are 100 to 200 year-old and they are maintained by the owners or the local council steps in to safe such structures wherever required.

Does Cuncolim municipality have a list of the heritage structures standing in their jurisdiction, i seriously  doubt so.

But in Goa the only thing the elected Councillors and government officials know is to bring the structure down. and mind you there are business establishments running from this buildings, has the Cuncolim municipality taken that into account - livelihood of the people and their families will be at stake.

is it a veil threat to businessman to toe the chairperson line for obvious reasons
